I’m so glad this Wikipedia page exists.
Oh, I do love Bill Bryson. He never lets me down, and his new book on Shakespeare, entitled Shakespeare: the World as Stage, is no exception. For a short read on the man we owe so much to, written with Bryson’s characteristic charm, it’s a steal at $14 on Amazon.
Incidentally, I will never be able to express with words how much I love the cover to A Short History of Nearly Everything.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England might be my favorite organisation ever. (Sorry, NAMBLA!)

Wow, that Wikipedia page is brilliant.
As for Bryson, I must resist. I must. This is what libraries are for, Ben. Even if you can get it used on Amazon for only $9. Oh, bother… :)
I’m with you on the CPRE.
